Guide to sealing pavers using Trident Hurricane Cat 5

Paver Sealing using Trident Hurricane Cat 5

Paver sealing is a critical step in enhancing the longevity and appearance of outdoor spaces. When using products like Hurricane Cat 5, meticulous preparation and application are paramount to achieving optimal results. This article outlines a comprehensive process for sealing pavers effectively, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal for years to come.

Confirm the Weather

Before arriving, verify that there is no rain forecasted for the day of sealing and the following 24 hours. Additionally, ensure the temperature is between 45 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

Prepare the Surface

  • Let the customer know you have arrived and you are going to begin with service.
  • Cover and tape any areas you don’t want to be hit with over-spray.
  • Anticipate some shifting between the first and second day. Therefore, thoroughly clean the surface, brush sand into joints to the appropriate level, and ensure no debris remains on the pavers.

Mix the Sealer

  • Utilize Trident Hurricane Cat 5, a 2-Part Urethane water-based Wet Look Sealer, with a 90-minute pot life. Refer to the instructions on the packaging label for dilution ratios, dwell time, and quantity required for your project.
  • The instructions in the next section yield approximately 10 gallons of solution, covering 800-1,200 square feet of pavers.

Application

  1. Gather necessary items: variable speed drill, paddle mixer, and a clean 5-gallon bucket.
  2. Mark the Part A line on the bucket based on the label.
  3. Pour half of Part A into the clean bucket, up to the marked line.
  4. Mix one container of Part B into the bucket containing Part A using a drill and paddle mixer on low speed for 1-2 minutes, avoiding air whipping.
  5. Apply a flood coat using approximately ⅔ of the mixed sealer, ensuring even coverage across the pavers. This step aims to provide full coverage and enhance the pavers' true colors.
  6. Allow the flood coat to dry until translucent, using a foam roller, squeegee, or leaf blower to manage pooling and expedite drying.
  7. After 45 minutes to 1 hour, apply a second coat using the remaining ⅓ of the mixture. Ensure it lays atop the first coat without sinking in.
  8. After 10-15 minutes, inspect for pooling and address as needed with a foam roller or leaf blower.

Completion

  • Clean up equipment and any protective materials used.
  • Capture photographs of the finished work.
  • Conduct a walk-through with the customer, advising them to avoid foot traffic and furniture on the pavers for 24 hours and driving for 48 hours.
  • Collect any due payments and finalize the service.

Sealing pavers with Hurricane Cat 5 demands attention to detail and adherence to specific procedures. By following the outlined steps, from weather assessment to surface preparation and meticulous application, you can deliver superior results to your customers. With proper care and maintenance, the sealed pavers will withstand the elements and retain their beauty, providing long-lasting enjoyment for outdoor living spaces.

Okay... we get it, you are not a "normal" agency... but that's what everyone says right?
Well yes, however
We really know the industry well

Every single person on our agency team has spent a lot of time in the field. We have all put in the time responding to leads, scheduling, giving/shadowing estimates, doing services.
This seems like an insane business model (trust me, we have been told this plenty) but it gives us a massive advantage when making decisions.
We know that the lowest cost per lead does not always mean the highest quality or the highest ticket. We know what happens to your margins when you get pushed into running the "$149 house wash special".

We stand behind our word, always

One thing that has always been very special to us, is the fact that (excluding spam / people that never used our services) we do not have any bad reviews. This absolutely does not mean we have never had unhappy clients, but if it happens, we make it right, and stand behind our promises.

Traditional strategies don't work for local lead generation

We have seen, time and time again, other agencies using strategies and structuring campaigns the way that they are technically supposed to. Most of these "best practices" that are taught in our industry, simply do not transfer into local lead gen. This is partially because we do have a much different target audience, and are typically spending less, however optimizing for website traffic does not work here.

We really do care, about you, and about this industry altogether

We have been there, jumping into starting a home service business, struggling, and doing everything wrong. It's humbling. Our team has all felt the highs and lows, which is why we get so excited for our clients to win, we know how good it feels.
